FSRH Position Statement on Young People (Feb 2017)
File size 12KB | Date: 20 March 2017
FSRH believes that every young person has the right to access high-quality, confidential, contraceptive care and receive age appropriate sex and relationships (SRE) education, including objective information about their fertility.
We want to help cultivate a UK where young people are able to confidently access contraceptive care in a setting in which they are comfortable and reassured about their right to confidentiality. We believe that Personal, Social, Health and Economics Education (PSHE) and SRE should be offered at both primary and secondary school level. Starting age appropriate SRE from a young age has been shown to cultivate a positive attitude in young people towards their sexuality and relationships, equipping them to make confident, informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health.
