We are delighted to confirm that Dr Zara Haider, FSRH Member, has been appointed Vice President of Workforce Strategy.
The Vice President of Workforce Strategy is an (unpaid) Officer role at the Faculty with the responsibility of consolidating the SRH workforce, increase training opportunities in SRH and working with partners and commissioners to provide high quality sexual and reproductive health services for all.
FSRH has six Officers and each Officer has responsibility for supporting the President and Council to implement the aims and plans of the Faculty in a specific area or areas of our work. They also play a key role in ensuring the voice of members/healthcare professionals is central to our work. All the Officers sit on the FSRH Council and also represent the FSRH at external meetings with stakeholders.
Zara has a wealth of experience in SRH after completing subspecialty training and being appointed Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare at the Wolverton Centre, Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As well as this she is the London CSRH Training Programme director, Educational Supervisor to a CRSH trainee and is an integral part of the FSRH Committee.
On her appointment Zara said:
"The outgoing VP Workforce Strategy, Jane Dickson, did an amazing job and hers are very big shoes to fill but I will do my best. The SRH workforce is currently facing a very challenging time. The pandemic and cuts to services are impacting on those providing SRH services and a patient’s ability to access the help that they need. My aim is to help support and strengthen the SRH workforce enabling the delivery of the high quality of care that our patients deserve.”
Zara has replaced Jane Dickson, who stepped down from the role in June 2021. We would like to say a huge thank to Jane for all of her incredibly hard work and commitment to the role.
