We’re delighted to introduce the newly appointed chair of the FSRH Northern Ireland Committee; Dr Siobhan Kirk

Dr Siobhan Kirk is a locum SRH Consultant at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. Her areas of clinical interest and expertise are menopause, abortion, and complex contraception.

Through her application for Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration she has gained a detailed knowledge of the CSRH curriculum. One challenge in NI she hopes to help overcome is to establish a CSRH training programme and develop consultant-led services.

Siobhan is also dedicated to improving the career development of SAS (Specialist, Associate Specialist and Specialty) doctors and further developing the role of nurses and midwives in contraception provision.

Siobhan has worked closely with FSRH in recent years on various issues and there have been significant improvements in access to contraception and abortion in NI.

Siobhan says, "I am delighted to take on the role of Chair of the FSRH NI Committee. I look forward to working with the NI committee, FSRH Council, SRH colleagues, policymakers and stakeholders to promote service development, and support the FSRH strategies and vision to improve the Sexual and Reproductive Health for people in NI and the rest of the UK."
