The RCN have recently updated two documents to support nurses and HCPs who are involved in women's health and carry out cervical screenings and genital examinations.

This new edition includes guidance for registered nurses working in a range of health care settings, in particular those involved in women’s health, cervical screening and public health. It focuses on an overview of HPV (including the current vaccination recommendations), the national cervical screening programme, information about colposcopy and some key facts on cervical cancer. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, readers are reminded to be mindful of ongoing updates to local policy and procedures in relation to PPE, social distancing, safety measures and access to services, which have not been embedded in this document.
