The upcoming guideline Contraception for Women Aged Over 40 Years is now out for public consultation.

This document updates previous Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH) guidance and aims to summarise the available evidence on contraception for women aged over 40.

The guidance is intended for use by health professionals working in SRH, general practice and obstetric and gynaecology settings. It covers many aspects of contraception: when it is needed, what is available, the suitability and safety of each method, how it should be used and when it can be stopped.

The CEU now seeks feedback and comments from the public regarding the current draft of the guideline. Please use the provided feedback form and send to CEU.Chalmers@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk

The consultation period closes on 24 July 2017, comments received after this date cannot be accepted.

This consultation has now closed.
