Type: FSRH News and Information

We share an update on progress with our new CSRH curriculum alongside information for potential CESR applicants.

We have submitted our new CSRH curriculum to the GMC (General Medical Council) and expect this to be approved in January 2021. Read our news story with more details about key dates.

As part of our GMC submission, we have updated our Specialty Specific Guidance (SSG) for CESR. CESR is one of three training routes available through us for medical practitioners who wish to gain specialist registration in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (SRH).

The updated CESR guidance is required by the GMC to support CESR applicants with their submission for a CESR in Community Sexual and Reproductive Health.

If I am applying for CESR, how will this affect me?

If you already have an open application with the GMC when our new curriculum is approved, you will have the option to submit your CESR application under the current CSRH curriculum - or you can submit it under our new curriculum.

If you open an application with the GMC after our new curriculum is approved (expected during January 2021), you will need to submit your application in line with our newly approved CSRH curriculum.

Further guidance coming soon

We are planning to organise some workshops for CESR applicants which will cover our new CSRH curriculum and SSG guidance in January 2021.

We will share details about this soon. If you would like to be added to our mailing list to find out more or have any questions, you can contact us at specialty@fsrh.org.
