FSRH President Dr Asha Kasliwal discusses guidelines and talks about the benefits of long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs) on NICE Talks, a podcast by the National Institute by the Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
NICE Talks is a podcast by NICE that brings healthcare professionals and the public together to discuss people’s real-life experiences of the NHS and public health. In this month’s edition, FSRH President Dr Asha Kasliwal talks about key FSRH and NICE guideline recommendations on LARCs. The podcast follows the publication of a NICE report highlighting progress in guideline implementation with commentary by Dr Kasliwal.
In the podcast, Dr Kasliwal explains that increasing LARC uptake can reduce the number or unplanned pregnancies, but that it is paramount that women requiring contraception are given information about and offered a choice of all contraceptive methods available.
