NICE is recruiting specialist members to join their Diagnostics Advisory Committee to the evaluation of the proposed Diagnostic topic: Adjunctive colposcopy technologies for assessing suspected cervical abnormalities.

The NICE Diagnostics Assessment programme is now recruiting healthcare professionals, to join the Diagnostics Advisory Committee as Specialist Committee members for adjunctive colposcopy technologies, with expertise in the following areas:

  • Consultant Gynaecologist or Gynaecological Oncologist with an interest in colposcopy
  • Consultant Cytopathologist with an interest in cervical screening
  • Consultant Histopathologist with an interest in cervical screening
  • Nurse Colposcopist
  • General Practitioner with an interest in gynaecology

The independent Diagnostics Advisory Committee considers evidence on the clinical and cost effectiveness of innovative medical diagnostic technologies and formulates recommendations to the NICE Diagnostics Assessment programme on the adoption of medical diagnostic technologies in the NHS.

For each evaluation, the Diagnostics Advisory Committee comprises 24 standing members and a number of additional Specialist Committee members with expertise relevant to the topic under evaluation.

Candidates are expected to have a good knowledge of the issues in the clinical area, but not necessarily have experience using the specific technology. Applicants must be based in the UK.
