It has been a long time coming, but we can now safely say that the our new Community Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (CSRH) specialty curriculum is finally approved by the GMC. This means that it has been published on both FSRH and GMC websites.
Our specialty curriculum in SRH aims to train a consultant workforce with the necessary leadership skills – and clinical skills - for community based sexual and reproductive health services.
We are pleased to announce that we have recently published our new CSRH Curriculum material. You will now be able to see full details of our new curriculum, including knowledge requirements, assessments required and the new terminology/structure on the our website. We will be adding materials over the next few months, as well as holding training events on the 5 May and 14 July.
Watch an introductory video by our Vice President of Specialty, Dr Janet Barter.
What happens next?
Current trainees and trainers will transfer to our new CSRH curriculum on 1 August 2021, so until then, they will continue to follow the existing ePortfolio. Trainees in the last two years of the programme will have the option of remaining on the old 2017 curriculum after this date. CESR candidates should check our website for specific guidance.
This is a great achievement for FSRH, our specialty, and sexual and reproductive healthcare. The new curriculum ensures that our programmes are up to date with the developments in medical education and fully compliant with GMC guidelines.
