Introducing our new FSRH Council member representatives

We held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) last week on 15 October, where one new and one re-standing Member/Fellow Representative, and two new Diplomate Representatives were voted in to join our Council. We introduce you to them below.

The FSRH Council is our professional membership body, responsible for implementing our mission and contributing its clinical expertise to meeting our long-term goals and aims. Read more about our Council and how we are governed.

Below, we introduce you to our four members representatives, who were elected in our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 15 October:

  • Dr Cynthia Das, Diplomate Representative
  • Dr Emma Fall, Diplomate Representative
  • Dr Sinead Cook, Member/Fellow Representative 
  • Dr Zara Haider, Member/Fellow Representative (re-elected)

Dr Nashwa Bryant, Dr Bushera Choudry and Dr Evelyn Kerr are now stepping down from FSRH Council roles, and we’d like to thank them for their support and contribution to our work.

 Cynthia Das

Dr Cynthia Das MB ChB (Sheffield), BSc, DFFP, MRCGP, Pg Dip (Cardiff)
(Diplomate Representative)

Cynthia is a GP at the University Health Service, Sheffield since 2009. It is only one of two dedicated university practices in the country entirely focused on a student population. She is passionate about empowering young people to lead healthy and fulfilling lives, irrespective of gender, sexuality or lifestyle. 

She is very excited to be elected as a Diplomate FSRH Council member and is looking forward to contribute to FSRH's work during these challenging times.

 Emma Fall

Dr Emma Fall BM MRCGP DFSRH DTM&H (Diplomate Representative)

Emma is a GP based in Poole, Dorset. She is the contraceptive lead for a primary care network which is now the largest single primary care provider in Dorset. She is passionate about women’s health, and is a regular coil fitter as well as undertaking menopause training with the BMS. 

She has recently set up and oversees the LARC service within the primary care network and is keen to develop and learn from her FSRH colleagues. She relishes the opportunity to connect with a multi-disciplinary team and harness future engagement within sexual and reproductive health.

 Sinead Cook

Dr Sinead Cook (Member/ Fellow Representative)

Sinead is a Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health at Grampian Sexual Health Services and a lead for young people and child protection in the service. She is particularly committed to providing SRH services for young people and vulnerable populations.

She is very passionate about teaching and training and also SRH internationally, having done various training and research in low-and-middle-income countries. As a member of Council, she looks forward to continuing supporting the work of the FSRH’s vision of high-quality sexual and reproductive health at every stage of our lives.

Dr Zara Haider

Dr Zara Haider

Zara has been a Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare at Kingston Hospital NHS Trust since October 2012.  She is a Training Programme Director, Educational Supervisor to a CSRH trainee She is member of FSRH Council representing Members/Fellows, she is the liason between Council and the Board of Trustees, past Chair of the FSRH Events Committee and FSRH Trainees Committee.
