FSRH president, Dr Chris Wilkinson, welcomed the launch of ‘Leading Safe Choices’ at the House of Lords – an exciting project designed to improve access to post pregnancy contraception care and abortion care in Tanzania and South Africa.

The FSRH President welcomed the launch at the House of Lords today of the ‘Leading Safe Choices’ project designed to improve access to post pregnancy
contraception and abortion care in Tanzania and South Africa.

Chris Wilkinson, FSRH President said:

“We are delighted to have contributed expertise to this project and congratulate the RCOG on taking such impressive strides towards supporting women’s healthcare in Africa by improving access to post-partum intrauterine contraceptives”.

The FSRH is pleased to be leading on the development of post pregnancy contraception guidelines with the RCOG, which will be published early next year. The
guidelines are being developed to support the work of healthcare professionals providing contraception to women after miscarriage, birth or abortion. We know
that this can often be a ‘missed opportunity’ to provide women with the contraception that is right for them at a crucial time.
