FSRH responds to NHS England’s clinical commissioning policy proposition Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) to prevent the acquisition of HIV in adults

In this submission FSRH welcomes NHS England’s overall proposal for the commissioning of PrEP. However, FSRH takes care to raise concerns about the potential negative impact NHS England’s proposed funding mechanism may have on increasingly stretched sexual and reproductive healthcare budgets and service delivery. Ultimately, FSRH urges NHS England to fund the commissioning of PrEP from its own budget.
