Last week the Chief Medical Officer launched her Annual Report focusing on health improvement for those aged between 50 to 70

In her Annual Report Baby Boomers: Fit for the future, the CMO dedicates a whole chapter to addressing the under-recognised sexual health needs of this age group.

The report underlines the need for sexual health messaging to be targeted at all sexually active people across the life course, specifically at older men and women and acknowledges how difficulties with sexual function and activity may have a significant impact on quality of life and the subjective wellbeing of individuals in this age group.

FSRH’s statement welcomes this report and its specific focus on sexual health and wellbeing across the life course, which is echoed in FSRH’s Vision for sexual and reproductive healthcare.
