New figures released by NHS Digital show a decrease of 4% in the number of contacts made with sexual and reproductive health services in the 2015-2016 period (from 2.13 to 2.03 million).
In this statement, FSRH welcomes NHS Digital’s findings that uptake of long-acting reversible methods of contraception (LARC) has steadily increased over the past ten years. However, FSRH takes care to raise its concerns regarding the overall decrease in contacts with services, calling for investment in SRH to ensure that high-quality sexual and reproductive healthcare is accessible to all.
