FSRH Statement on Junior Doctors Industrial Action
Date: 21 Feb 2023
Type: FSRH Press Releases and Statements

Junior doctors represented by the British Medical Association (BMA) have voted in favour of industrial action in their dispute over pay. The Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH) has many members who are junior doctors, all of whom are integral to the delivery of high quality sexual & reproductive healthcare.
Like many areas of healthcare, sexual & reproductive healthcare services have suffered from year-on-year budget cuts and under-prioritisation. FSRH fully understands the frustration that junior doctors and others experience regarding the profound NHS workforce shortages which exacerbate the pressures they are under. FSRH has consistently voiced that workforce is a key issue facing healthcare services and urges the Government to urgently increase the capacity of the SRH workforce.
FSRH further calls for all parties to work together to reach a negotiated settlement for the benefit of staff, services, patients, and the broader public.
