FSRH calls for the Labour Party to adopt integrated holistic commissioning of SRH
Date: 10 Jul 2019
Type: FSRH Consultation Responses

The Labour Party has launched a Consultation on Rebuilding a Public NHS. The consultation covers central issues to FSRH on how to best deliver a publicly delivered, funded and well-trained NHS.
Highlighting our joint position statement with the RCOG, RCGP and the over-arching body representing the medical profession – the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC), we made clear the need for integrated holistic commissioning of SRH and:
• We strongly recommended that any review or reorganisation of SRH commissioning responsibility should focus on women’s health.
• We believe there is a need for SRH care to be more broadly integrated into women’s healthcare pathways.
We also evidenced the need for a better funded and well-trained workforce. We called for an expansion of funded CSRH training and Consultant posts to ensure the system is effectively training, educating and investing in adequate SRH leadership.
