Date: 02 Jun 2021
Type: FSRH News and Information

We are delighted to confirm that Gary Waltham has accepted the role of CEO of FSRH, starting in mid-November. We are confident Gary will help us realise the ambitions in our strategic plan, and we all look forward to working with him.
Gary joins us from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), where he is Executive Director, Education, Quality and Projects. Gary has played a key role in developing RCOG products and services over the last five and a half years, including the recent digitisation of examinations. He also led the relocation project to move the organisation to new premises. Working at the RCOG means Gary already has an in-depth understanding of both medical colleges and women’s health.
Prior to working at RCOG, Gary has accrued 15 years’ experience working in postgraduate medical education both at Health Education England (HEE) and the London Postgraduate Deanery. He has a BSc in sociology and an MSc in human resources.
We were delighted with the huge interest in our role. The recruitment process was very thorough, with multiple stages, and the panel felt that Gary was the right candidate for FSRH.
Until Gary’s start, we welcome the return of Federico Moscogiuri as interim CEO. Federico was previously FSRH’s CEO covering for Jane Hatfield during 2019. Federico played a key role in developing and agreeing FSRH’s current 5-Year Strategic Plan and has great experience of working with FSRH. Federico starts in his post this week, and will be working part-time in a caretaker CEO capacity.
We would also like to thank Subo Shanmuganathan, who has worked alongside Jane Hatfield as Interim CEO since December 2020 and left FSRH last week.
