Jane Hatfield, CEO of FSRH since 2013, has been living with an ovarian cancer diagnosis since early 2019. She has undergone various rounds of treatment since then. Sadly, the treatment has not been successful and although she is currently being treated with oral chemotherapy, her oncology team are not very optimistic about its success.

Jane has understandably decided to cut back on the amount of time she is working at FSRH to spend more quality time with her family and friends. We recently appointed an interim job share for the CEO role - Dr Subo Shanmuganathan - to work alongside Jane as she received treatment. Subo will now work 4 days a week as interim CEO, and Jane will continue to work one day a week supporting Subo until the end of March.

Subo has held many senior leadership roles having trained initially as a clinical immunovirologist working in HIV and hepatitis. She has worked in a variety of public and not-for-profit organisations ranging from the NHS and Universities, to charities, medical colleges and healthcare regulators. Subo can be contacted directly at sshanmuganathan@fsrh.org
