APPG on Sexual and Reproductive Health announces next meeting on Northern Ireland abortion services
Date: 09 Nov 2020
Type: All-Party Parliamentary Group on SRH

The APPG on Sexual and Reproductive Health will hold a meeting to focus on the lack of commissioning for abortion services in Northern Ireland, which has led to the instability of services and the closure of one.
The meeting will take place on Monday 14th December from 15.00 – 16.30.
The meeting will explore the medical, legal and human rights implications of the lack of commissioning for abortion services, as well as the current impact on women in Northern Ireland. Participants will discuss opportunities to improve the situation, including what UK Parliamentarians can do to effect change.
The event will be chaired by Dame Diana Johnson DBE MP. We look forward to hearing from the following panellists:
- Les Allamby, Chief Commissioner of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission
- Dr Goretti Horgan, Researcher and expert on women’s experiences of abortion
- Ruairi Rowan, Head of Policy and Public Affairs at Informing Choices NI
