Information for trainers that deliver FSRH training

We have heard from our members that SRH healthcare professionals are being redeployed elsewhere in the health service due to COVID-19.  We acknowledge this is likely to disrupt training and we want to encourage all trainers to contact their trainees if possible to discuss a revised timescale for training if required.

FRTs/GTPDS:

Completion of training programmes
We encourage you to contact your trainees now if possible and discuss arrangements for training. You may also need to discuss issues regarding timescales for completion and renegotiate these where necessary. We recognise that offering training may be challenging, or not possible, in the immediate future and we will take this into account when trainees are submitting evidence for their qualifications.

New Diploma
The COVID-19 outbreak will have an impact on the launch of the new Diploma, as healthcare professionals play a big part in the development and testing of both the Diploma and the learning management system. FSRH staff are currently working on contingency plans and a new initial timetable. We will be shortly sharing some pre-learning, should any candidates be in a position to start preparing.

Regional trainer events
We were planning to hold four regional trainer events this year, following the retirement of the FRTA roles. The current situation has meant it is unlikely we will be able to deliver these until the autumn – we still hope to deliver a couple in 2020.

Questions
If you have any questions about our Diploma and LoCs please contact education@fsrh.org or call the switchboard 020 7724 5534 and select the relevant option.

SRH Essential Facilitators:

Delivery of courses
If you are planning to cancel or postpone an SRH Essentials course, please notify Conor Runswick at crunswick@fsrh.org

Downloading workbooks
We don't have access to the printed workbooks for Essentials, so copies need to be downloaded from the FSRH website. To access this please log into your MyFSRH account and the workbook will be available on the relevant Essentials course under your MyCommittees page. Any issues please contact Conor as above.

SSM Trainers

We encourage you to contact your trainees now if possible and discuss arrangements for training. You may also need to discuss issues regarding timescales for completion and renegotiate these where necessary. We recognise that offering training may be challenging, or not possible, in the immediate future and we will take this into account when trainees are submitting evidence for their qualifications.

SSM Trainees nearing completion
If your SSM trainee is finishing soon, and they wish to submit their completed logbook they will need to send a scanned copy by email to the SSMs administrator, crunswick@fsrh.org for review. If you have already posted your logbook to the FSRH office at Union Street please contact crunswick@fsrh.org.
