  • Contraception

Run jointly with Marie Stopes International, this full day Conference addresses some of the sexual and reproductive health issues encountered in the developing world.  FGM, HIV prevalence, unsafe abortion, contraceptive myths, and sexual and gender based violence are just a few.

These issues present  challenges to all but the most experienced of specialised clinicians. SRH for International Volunteers covers these and other SRH issues, as well as giving an introduction to the realities of working in emergency and humanitarian settings.

The course offers guidance about how to assess risks and prioritise issues that arise, particularly when working in low resource settings, and with mixed skill sets. Delegates will have the opportunity to speak to experienced volunteers and network with like-minded professionals.

The course is valid for six hours’ CPD.
