Briefing: do sexual and reproductive healthcare services feature in new models of care? Findings from an audit
In 2018, FSRH undertook a rapid review of new models of care to understand where SRH services were being embedded and to identify lessons and best practice to share. This briefing sets out the key findings of the audit and is a companion to the main report launched by FSRH in 2019, “Opportunities to embed sexual and reproductive healthcare services into new models of care. A practical guide for commissioners and service providers".
Opportunities to embed sexual and reproductive healthcare services into new models of care. A practical guide for commissioners and service providers
This report sets out case studies demonstrating the potential for new models of care to embed SRH services. It is based on an audit to assess the extent to which SRH isbeing factored into new models of care. 51 strategies and operational plans were reviewed from Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships, NHS England Vanguards and large-scale general practice organisations. The results show that few areas have explicitly recognised the opportunity to embed SRH services, and there is huge, untapped potential.
