As the launch of our redesigned FSRH Diploma (DFSRH) gets ever closer, nurse Emma Toy shares her views on completing our Diploma as part of a pilot last year.

Taking the FSRH’s redesigned Diploma (DFSRH) was a very positive experience for me. Throughout the qualification, I worked closely with my trainer, one of our experienced doctors. Regular observations enabled me to develop a deeper understanding in all the assessed areas and the clinical guidance that underpins our work - while also forging a great friendship with my colleague.

The assessment day was a little daunting(!) but I ensured I was prepared and it was delivered in a professional and supportive way.

I’m now six months on from completing my DFSRH and I feel competent in my role. The journey throughout my qualification has been a very organised and supportive process. I’ve gained excellent knowledge and understanding to deliver safe and professional contraceptive advice.

I would recommend the DFSRH to anyone considering it.

Applications for our FSRH Diploma (DFSRH) open in late October 2020. Find out more about our redesigned curriculum and how you can get started on some of your learning.
