Dear Members and Friends of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH),

Dr Maryam NasriI am Dr Maryam Nasri, a Community Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare Consultant, a GP, and your Vice President of Membership at FSRH, and today, I am excited to share with you the advancing work your organisation is doing around the globe to help deliver our goal of high quality sexual and reproductive healthcare (SRH).

Around the world, SRH is known by many names, from family planning to contraceptive services. Whatever the name, the mission – to improve the lives of women and girls – remains the same.

Our vision at the faculty is “high quality SRH for all”, but our mission is not limited to the UK nor is it only to create educational programmes and qualifications. We are committed to making a tangible impact on SRH globally. We collaborate with partners, healthcare organisations, and advocacy groups to advance SRH in underserved regions. By supporting research, training, and advocacy initiatives, we strive to improve access to SRH services, reduce disparities, and enhance the quality of care provided to individuals around the world.

Our international committee has a pivotal role in all our endeavours and I wish to thank them for all their efforts this year. This group of passionate individuals is at the heart of our mission to improve SRH outcomes worldwide.  Made up of experts from various disciplines, they work tirelessly to guide our organisation's efforts, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of SRH.

As an example of the achievements of the team this year, we are proud to announce the launch of our new SRH International qualification. At the FSRH, we understand the importance of evidence-based education and training in SRH. Our new qualification is designed to meet the growing demand for globally recognised expertise in SRH.

It is a testament to our commitment to excellence in SRH care, and it caters to healthcare professionals around the world. It provides a comprehensive understanding of SRH issues, evidence-based practice, and ethical considerations. Whether you're a healthcare provider, educator, or advocate, this qualification equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to make a positive impact on SRH.

We are also excited to announce that we have commenced piloting internationally the FSRH Diploma in two countries in the Gulf. This diploma, renowned for its high standards and rigorous curriculum, has been instrumental in training healthcare professionals in the UK. Now, we are beginning to extend the opportunity to benefit from the Diploma to our global community. Whilst we are starting this year with two countries, we wish to expand internationally to support healthcare professionals around the world delivering high quality FSRH. We welcome conversations with colleagues internationally to consider how the Diploma could add value.

Finally, I’d like to highlight our forthcoming Annual Conference on 8 December starting at 09:00 GMT, which is accessible digitally to you, our members, all around the world.

You can sign up for this great opportunity to hear the latest in your field on our website today.

Our Future:

As we move forward, we remain dedicated to our mission of promoting the highest standards in SRH. We will continue to expand our international presence, foster collaboration, and advocate for SRH rights globally. Together, with your support and commitment, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of countless individuals who depend on high quality SRH care.

In closing, I want to express my gratitude to all our members, partners, and supporters who share our passion for sexual and reproductive health. Your dedication drives our work and ensures that we remain a leading force in advancing SRH worldwide.

If you are not already a part of our community, I invite you to join us in this rewarding journey. If you wish to be more involved, there are many opportunities for members to work with us.

Together, we can make a world where sexual and reproductive health is a fundamental right accessible to all.

Thank you for your unwavering support.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Maryam Nasri
