Katherine Gilmore

Katerine Gilmore FRT for FSRHKatherine Gilmore is a specialty registrar in Community Sexual and Reproductive Health in Newcastle Upon Tyne. She completed her medicine degree as a postgraduate at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and developed a strong interest in sexual and reproductive health during her initial core training in community paediatrics; through exploring sexual health issues with young people. Katherine has publications in a variety of sexual and reproductive health topics. She authored ‘Child Sexual Exploitation: a guide for obstetricians and gynaecologists’ for The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and leading on from her interest in genital dermatology, authored a chapter for a medical textbook ‘The Vulva.’

More recently Katherine has contributed two chapters for The Oxford Handbook of Genitourinary Medicine, HIV and Sexual Health. Katherine is currently leading a quality improvement project looking at improving contraception provision post abortion in the North East of England.
