Dr Anne Connolly MB:ChB; DRCOG; DFSRH; MRCGP; Dip GPSI gynae
After a two year posting to a mission hospital in rural Zimbabwe, Anne returned to General Practice in inner-city Bradford in 1990 helping to develop a leading-edge teaching practice. She has recently opted to move practice and is currently working as a GP providing care for asylum seekers, refugees, homeless and sex workers.
She is a GPSI in gynaecology and accredited as a hysteroscopist, colposcopist and FSRH trainer, undertaking weekly clinical sessions in each specialty. She has been involved with commissioning since 2006 as clinical lead for maternity, women’s and sexual health for NHS Bradford and Airedale.
Anne is one of the founder members and chair of the Primary Care Women’s Health Forum allowing her to develop her passion for improving the delivery of women’s health care in primary care through education and the sharing of best practice.
She commenced FSRH committee work in 2007 as a member of General Training Committee and joined the FSRH council in 2010 as a diplomate representative. She is currently a member of the International Working Group, meetings committee and became Vice President (membership) in 2014.
