Charlie Hart is a qualified teacher, with specific training in working with those with Special Needs. She has taught in a main stream school, and since becoming ill as a consequence of being a wheelchair user, has become increasingly interested in the physical and mental health of those with specific needs.
She has worked as Peer Support Officer for SIA, supporting and advocating for seriously injured people and helping to educate the staff working with them.
Her main focus is helping people of all ages and all walks of life to engage as fully as possible in their lives, feeling educated and confident to ask for what they need and advocate for themselves. Volunteering with Sexplain, Charlie volunteers to deliver sex and relationship workshops to young people in today’s increasingly grown-up world.
