Wales Committee

The objectives of the Wales Committee are to:

  • Co-ordinate and work with BASHH in Wales
  • Share good protocols and good practice across Wales
  • Highlight areas with gaps in SRH services
  • Provide professional support for SRH senior clinicians.

Key achievements in 2018:

  • Organised successful Annual Scientific Meeting in Cardiff July 2018
  • Held a Stakeholders Roundtable November 2018
  • Successfully lobbied for home use of misoprostol in TOP
  • Worked together with WAG, PHW and BASHH amongst others on the Review of Sexual Health Services in Wales
  • Held 2 national audit meetings together with BASHH Wales

Objectives for 2019

  • To continue to work together with WAG, PHW and BASHH on the Sexual Health Programme Board to produce a range of documents which will help to improve SRH Services in Wales
  • To jointly organise an ASM in North Wales July 2019
  • To jointly organise 2 national audit meetings with BASHH Wales in March and October
  • To continue work with the cross party group in WAG to improve abortion services in Wales
  • To continue to work with PHW to improve data collection in SRH services across Wales
  • Follow up on the FSRH Welsh Stakeholders Roundtable to promote the FSRH Vision in Wales
