Northern Ireland Committee

The objectives of the Northern Ireland Committee are to maintain and promote high standards in medical education in SRH; promote SRH patient wellbeing by close links with O&G and GUM services; and influence to establish a province-wide SRH consultant post.

The Northern Ireland Committee’s key achievements in 2017 were:

1. Rolling out of LilieIT system in all Trusts in Northern Ireland
2. Additional two instructing doctors have become Faculty Trainers
3. Course of 5 provided annually or as need arises
4. Final Northern Ireland Implementation Plan for the FSRH Vision agreed with FSRH

Looking ahead to 2018, the Northern Ireland Committee will:

1. Launch the Northern Ireland Implementation Plan
2. Continue to lobby Department to fund regional S&RH
3. Encourage co-location/integration of family planning and GUM clinics
4. Raise profile of Course of 5 to encourage uptake of Faculty qualifications
