Northern Ireland Committee

The objectives of the Northern Ireland Committee are to maintain and promote high standards in medical education in SRH; promote SRH patient wellbeing by close links with O&G and GUM services; and influence to establish a province-wide SRH consultant post.

The Northern Ireland Committee’s key achievements in 2018 were:

  • No further progress with NI consultant. Work in progress
  • All Trusts in NI using Lilie computer system
  • Up to 10 GP trainers have indicated they will sign up as instructing doctors
  • Course of 5: - 8 participants in November 2018, successful course with positive feedback

2019 Objectives:

  • Continue to lobby department to fund a consultant
  • Encourage doctors working in S&RH to become instructing doctors
  • Plan for another course of 5 in November 2019
  • Engage with colleagues in GB following Vision launch
