Membership Exam
Membership of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare of the RCOG (MFSRH) is a recognised qualification in Reproductive Health Care and is held by those providing expertise in community care, primary care and the acute sector.
The Faculty awards Membership by examination. The MFSRH Examination consists of a Part 1 examination, submission of an Evidence Based Commentary, and a Part 2 examination (CRQ, EMQ and OSCE).
The MFSRH qualification is subject to re-certification every five years.

Part 1 Multiple Choice Question paper (MCQ)
The Part 1 consists of 60 multiple choice style questions. There is no exemption from the Part 1 examination.

There are no preparatory courses organised for the MFSRH Part 1 examination.
There are no past papers or revision sheets available for the MFSRH Part 1 examination.
The examination takes place in London in April and October of each year.

- A clear copy of your medical degree
- Two passport size photographs
- A clear copy of the page from your passport that shows your name and photograph
- Examination fee (Cheque, in pounds sterling, made payable to the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare)
The Examination Secretary will acknowledge receipt of applications upon receiving an email request from the applicant. Applicants are welcome to send applications using a postal option that requires a signature on delivery. The Examination Secretary will process all applications after the closing date for applications and will confirm entry to the examination. It is the candidate´s responsibility to ensure that the Faculty receives the completed application form on or before the closing date for the examination. The Faculty will not accept entry forms franked after the closing date. Examination Fees are given below.

Evidence Based Commentary
The Evidence Based Commentary (EBC) topic is set annually and appears on the Faculty website on 1st September. The candidate has an absolute deadline of 31st August the following year to submit the Commentary on this topic. The Commentary must be a minimum of 1000 words and maximum of 2000 words and the format must follow the guidance notes. In addition to sending an electronic version of the Commentary, the candidate must complete the Certificate of Originality below and send with a printed copy of the Commentary and submission fee, see guidance notes. The fee payable on submission is £100 and payment must be by cheque (pound sterling) made payable to the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare. Part 2 June 2010 - CRQ, EMQ and OSCE
There are three components to this examination: Critical Reading Question paper (CRQ), Extended Matching Question paper (EMQ), and Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). The Part 2 Examination is currently held in Liverpool in June of each year. To enter the MFSRH Part 2 candidates are required:
- to have obtained a pass in the Part 1 examination before the closing date for entry to the Part 2 AND
- to have had their Evidence Based Commentary approved by the Faculty, before the closing date for entry to the Part 2 AND
- to ensure that their experience covers the syllabus

Full payment of the examination fee must be received at time of application. Courses for the MFSRH Part 2
It is likely that the Faculty will be informed in due course of external courses that will be run in the lead up to the Part 2 Examination. Any notification of external courses that is brought to the attention of the Faculty will appear in ´Courses & Meetings´ on the Faculty Website. The Examination Secretary does not hold a list and cannot provide any information on listed meetings. Enquiries should be directed to the Course Organiser.

Examination Fees and Charges
Examination fees 2012 MFSRH Part 1 & Part 2 examinations are:

Part 1 Charges
Candidates who withdraw from an examination within 8 weeks of the date of the examination without credible mitigating circumstances will be liable to an administrative charge of £75. The remainder of the fees will be refunded.
Candidates may defer sitting the examination on a maximum of three occasions over a 2-year period; thereafter the whole examination fee is forfeited. Candidates who wish to defer sitting the examination must notify the Faculty at least 8 weeks prior to the date of the examination; otherwise they will be liable to an administrative charge of £75. Candidates whose deferment is followed by cancellation will be liable to an administrative charge of £75.
Part 2 Charges

Examination Results Part 1 and Part 2
This section of the site has been dedicated to publishing the results of the Membership (MFSRH) examinations. The site will be updated three times per year. It will contain information following the Part 1 MFSRH examinations in April and October and following the Part 2 MFSRH Examination in June of each year. The results will be listed for a period of 1 month only.
Please note: Part 2 Examination Only the names of those candidates who are eligible to become a Member will be appear on the Part 2 Results List. This list is in alphabetical order not rank order.

The Examination Committee will extend an invitation to join an Examiner sub-group (EBC, MCQ, CRQ, EMQ or OSCE groups) as vacancies arise. There may also be rotation of Examiners between Sub-Groups and the General Bank from time to time. Examiners will be required to sign and adhere to the Position of MFSRH Examiner
document.
All Examiners must attend the MFSRH Examiner Induction Day and annual MFSRH Examiners´ Conference at a London venue and will be asked to confirm availability to attend and participate in the MFSRH Part 2 Examination held in June, currently at a Liverpool venue.
The Examination Committee will advertise for applications to join the Panel of MFSRH Examiners in the Faculty Newsletter/Journal when there are vacancies to fill.
Please Note: The Examination Committee will not hold or review applications received when there are no vacancies, please refrain from applying during these periods.
