Diplomate member - GMC Registered Doctors

If you are registered with the GMC and actively seeking to develop your skills and knowledge in sexual and reproductive healthcare, you may be interested in taking our Diploma qualification.

By achieving your Diploma and becoming a Diplomate member, you will receive recognition of your professional practice with a qualification that is highly regarded in the workplace. The Diploma qualification is recertifiable every five years but this is free to members who pay their annual subscription fee. 

The Diploma is open to doctors with both registration and a licence to practise with the UK GMC. It is accredited by the RCGP and the RCN. Clinicians currently holding the Diploma must also be a member of the Faculty.

This programme has been accredited by the RCN Centre for Professional Accreditation until 28 February 2019.

Diplomate member - NMC Registered Nurse

If you are registered with the NMC and actively seeking to develop your skills and knowledge in SRH, you may be interested in taking our Diploma qualification.  

 

We recognise that nurses are a key part of the SRH consultation process in all settings and for that reason in 2014 we welcomed nurses into the FSRH membership. 

RCGP Accredited Course LogoThe Diploma is open to nurses on the UK NMC register (excluding RN Level 2). It is accredited by the RCGP and the RCN. Clinicians currently holding the Diploma must also be a member of the Faculty.

Member - Open to GMC Registered doctors

Membership of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare of the RCOG (MFSRH) is a recognised qualification in sexual and reproductive health care. It is held by clinicians who provide expertise in community, primary and acute care. 


The Examination Committee awards a gold medal to any candidate achieving over 80% in the Part Two examination and an Excellent Pass in the Evidence-Based Commentary.

The MFSRH qualification is subject to re-certification every five years. Please read the regulations and be aware of the examination timings before applying.

Fellowship of FSRH

The award of the Fellowship of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare is an honour which recognises many years of loyal service as a Member in the specialty of contraception and sexual health. 248 Fellows were admitted at the first awards ceremony in 2005, which was held at the RCOG.

What is the process to become a Fellow?

In November of each year, we write to invite MFSRH members to make an application to become Fellows. Applications will be considered by Council if an individual has:

  • obtained the MFSRH qualification a minimum of 12 complete years previously,
  • has maintained their Membership of the Faculty continuously during this period
  • has satisfactorily completed a 5 year CPD cycle or if working in a country that does not have a system of CPD assessment has provided evidence of continuing medical education,
  • has completed the appropriate application form,
  • has completed a personal declaration of good standing

Honorary Fellowship of FSRH

Honorary Fellowship of the FSRH is an honour granted to persons of eminence who have rendered exceptional services to the science or practice of sexual and reproductive healthcare. 

 
Awards are made via recommendation of the FSRH council annually at the general meeting. Honorary Fellows need not be medically qualified.

Both GMC and NMC registered doctors and nurses can apply for Associate Membership after completing a Letter of Competence.

Associate Membership of FSRH

Associate membership is open to doctors and nurses who hold one or both FSRH Letter(s) of Competence. 

 

RCGP Accredited Course LogoRCN accredited logoOur Letters of Competence are fully accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners and the Royal College of Nursing.

 

When you complete your Letter of Competence training, you will be offered the option to become an Associate member of FSRH.

Affiliate membership of FSRH

If you have an interest in sexual and reproductive health, but you do not hold our qualifications*, you can join our community and keep up to date as an Affiliate member. International applicants are welcome to join us as Affiliate members.

 

 

You can join as an Affiliate member online today via our web registration form. First you will need to register for a MY FSRH account. On the final page of the registration page you will be offered an option to join and pay the Affiliate membership fee.

* Please note that if you are applying for a Letter of Competence (LoC) you will be invited to apply for Associate membership on completion of the online application for the LoC.

Retired membership is open to professionals who are already members of FSRH but who no longer practice in a clinical setting.

Current FSRH members in any category are eligible for retired membership.
